Riftbound: Radiance — What to Watch For

Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game is gearing up for its next major release, Radiance, arriving October 23, 2026. With new Champions, new strategies, Showcase cards, and a brand-new premium rarity, Radiance could be an important set for both players and collectors.

What to Look Out For

Radiance brings 180 cards, 9 new Champion Legends, and 66 Showcase cards, giving players plenty of new tools to experiment with.

The biggest question is how these cards will affect the current metagame.

By Set 5, players have had time to establish strong archetypes and identify the strategies that consistently perform. Radiance could shake that up by giving existing decks new tools, bringing previously overlooked Legends into contention, or creating entirely new archetypes.

When looking through the set, don't just focus on the cards that look powerful at first glance. Keep an eye out for cards that improve consistency, answer popular strategies, or work particularly well with cards from previous sets. Those are often the cards that end up having the biggest impact once players get them onto the table.

What Could It Mean for Gameplay?

The arrival of a new set is always an exciting time for Riftbound because the metagame effectively gets a reset.

Players will be testing new Legends, rebuilding existing decks, and looking for combinations nobody has discovered yet. Some strategies may disappear from the top tables, while others could become even stronger with the right additions from Radiance.

The nine new Champion Legends are particularly important. We've already seen Seraphine, Evelynn, Ekko, Ziggs and Jarvan IV, with more still to come. Which of them become tournament staples  and which become sleeper hits  will be one of the most interesting things to watch after release.

For local players, this experimentation is arguably the best part of a new set. The first few weeks of Radiance should be full of new decks and ideas.

What About Collectors?

Radiance could also be a significant release for collectors.

Alongside the 66 Showcase cards, Riot is introducing the Radiance Ultimate Rare, a new premium rarity that sits above the existing Overnumbered treatment.

That gives collectors another chase layer and could help establish which premium treatments become especially desirable as the Riftbound card pool grows.

As always, rarity isn't everything. Champion popularity, artwork, playability and scarcity can all influence demand. A highly competitive card featuring a popular League champion could appeal to both players and collectors, while an especially beautiful Showcase or Ultimate Rare could become desirable regardless of tournament performance.

Because Riftbound is still a relatively young TCG, it's too early to know which cards will become long-term collector favourites. That uncertainty is part of what makes opening and collecting new sets so exciting.
